Academy policy information

Terms & Conditions

1. About the Academy

First 28 Newborn Academy (“Academy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides online educational and professional-development programmes relating to newborn care, maternity support, infant care, and related subjects. By purchasing, enrolling in, or accessing an Academy programme, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Educational Purpose and Scope

Academy programmes are designed for education, skills development, and professional learning. Course content is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Completion of an Academy course does not by itself grant a government licence, regulated professional registration, or authority to practise a regulated healthcare profession.

3. Programme Information

Programme descriptions, learning outcomes, module information, course duration, included resources, assessments, and certificate requirements will be displayed on the relevant course page or provided to the learner before or during enrolment. The Academy may correct typographical errors or make reasonable updates to educational content when necessary to maintain quality, accuracy, or safety.

4. Eligibility and Learner Responsibilities

Learners are responsible for providing accurate registration information, maintaining the confidentiality of their login details, completing their own assessments, and using the course materials responsibly. Learners must not impersonate another person, share accounts, submit another person's work, or use Academy materials for unlawful purposes.

5. Enrolment and Account Access

Course access is provided to the learner associated with the purchase or enrolment. Unless a different access period is expressly stated on the programme page, access is intended for the individual enrolled and may not be transferred, resold, shared, or sublicensed. The Academy may suspend or terminate access where there is a serious breach of these Terms.

6. Fees and Payments

Course fees are displayed in UAE dirhams (AED) unless otherwise stated. Prices, promotional offers, instalment options, and payment terms shown at the time of purchase form part of the learner's order. Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. The Academy does not store full payment-card details on its own website when payment is handled by a third-party processor.

7. Promotional Prices and Offers

Promotional prices may be available for a limited time and may have conditions stated on the relevant offer. Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions cannot be combined and are not retroactive to purchases already completed.

8. Refunds and Cancellation

Because Academy programmes may include immediate access to digital lessons, videos, assessments, and downloadable resources, refund eligibility may depend on the amount of course content already accessed or downloaded and on applicable law. Any specific refund or cancellation promise displayed on the purchase page will apply to that purchase. Where no separate refund policy is displayed, learners should contact the Academy promptly at info@first28newbornacademy.com to request a review. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

9. Course Completion and Assessments

Learners must complete the requirements specified for their programme, including lessons, quizzes, assessments, or other required activities. The Academy may require a learner to meet a stated passing standard before a certificate is issued. Assessment results must represent the learner's own work.

10. Certificates

Where a programme includes a certificate, the certificate confirms completion of the Academy's stated educational requirements. An Academy certificate is not represented as a government licence, professional registration, university degree, or externally accredited qualification unless the Academy expressly identifies the relevant accreditation or awarding body. The Academy may refuse or withhold certification where completion or assessment requirements have not been met.

11. Intellectual Property

Course lessons, videos, text, graphics, assessments, templates, downloadable resources, branding, logos, and other Academy materials are owned by or licensed to First 28 Newborn Academy unless otherwise stated. They are provided for the learner's personal educational use. Learners may not copy, reproduce, publish, upload, sell, distribute, teach from, modify, or commercially exploit Academy materials without prior written permission.

12. Student Work and Communications

Learners retain ownership of original work they create, subject to any third-party rights. By submitting work to the Academy, the learner grants the Academy permission to use it only as reasonably necessary to administer, assess, support, and document the programme. The Academy will not publicly publish identifiable learner information, testimonials, photographs, or certificate-recipient information without an appropriate basis and, where required, permission.

13. Privacy and Personal Information

The Academy may process information needed to create accounts, manage enrolment, process payments, provide learning services, issue certificates, respond to enquiries, and maintain security. Third-party providers used for services such as payment processing, scheduling, messaging, hosting, analytics, email delivery, and storage may process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Please refer to the Academy's Privacy Notice for further information.

14. Third-Party Services

The website may use third-party services including payment processors, email providers, scheduling tools, messaging platforms, hosting services, analytics services, and other technology providers. The Academy is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused solely by a third-party service, although the Academy will take reasonable steps to address service issues within its control.

15. Health, Safety and Professional Boundaries

Nothing in an Academy programme authorises a learner to diagnose, prescribe, administer treatment outside their lawful scope, or replace a qualified healthcare professional. Learners are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws, professional standards, employer requirements, and scope-of-practice rules applicable to their own work and location.

16. Website and Content Availability

The Academy aims to keep the website and learning platform available and course content accurate and current, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Temporary maintenance, technical problems, security measures, or events outside the Academy's reasonable control may affect availability.

17. Limitation of Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Academy is not responsible for losses arising from misuse of course information, reliance on educational content as a substitute for professional advice, unauthorised sharing of learner accounts, or actions taken outside the learner's lawful scope of practice. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

18. Changes to These Terms

The Academy may update these Terms when reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to services, technology, law, or business practices. The latest version will be published on the Academy website. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to the Academy's operating jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to the learner. Any dispute should first be raised with the Academy so that the parties have a reasonable opportunity to resolve it directly before formal proceedings are considered.
