Programme outcome

A foundational understanding of newborn care and the responsibilities involved in safe, responsive, and compassionate care.

Assessment

14 module knowledge checks with 15 multiple-choice questions each, followed by a 30-question final comprehensive assessment. Each assessment requires 80% or higher to pass, and retakes are available after review.

Practical training

Hand hygiene, newborn-care station preparation, safe handling, head and neck support, positioning, feeding preparation, bottle feeding, burping, diaper changing, umbilical cord care, bathing, skin care, dressing, swaddling, safe sleep, soothing, observation, documentation, handover, communication, and escalation recognition.

English reading comprehension is required because course materials, assessments, and certification documentation are delivered in English.

Delivery

Core programmes are presented as online learning using lessons, videos, images, scenarios, knowledge checks, assessments, and case studies.

Pricing

Standard prices are AED 895, AED 1,795, and AED 2,795 for Fundamentals, Specialist, and Maternity Nurse Training respectively. Launch / early-bird offers may be activated only during an approved promotional period at AED 695, AED 1,495, and AED 2,395. Payment plans may be offered only for the Specialist and Maternity Nurse programmes, with terms confirmed before enrollment.

Newborn Care Fundamentals includes structured theoretical learning, 14 module knowledge checks with 15 multiple-choice questions each, and a 30-question final comprehensive assessment. Module and final assessments require 80% or higher to pass, with retakes available after review. Other programmes may have different requirements.

Students who successfully meet the requirements of an applicable programme may receive a Certificate of Completion. Certificate requirements vary according to the programme.

Important: A Certificate of Completion represents completion of the applicable educational programme. It is not a government licence, professional healthcare licence, regulated professional qualification, or external accreditation unless formally obtained.

Are payment plans available?+

Payment plans may be available for the Newborn Care Specialist Program and Maternity Nurse Professional Training. When offered, the Academy will confirm the total programme price, initial payment, number of installments, payment schedule, payment terms, and certification/payment-completion requirements before enrollment. Payment-plan availability may depend on current enrollment policies.

What certificate will I receive?+

Students who successfully complete the required coursework and assessments may receive the applicable First 28 Newborn Academy Certificate of Completion. It recognizes completion of the applicable educational programme and is not automatically a government licence, regulated professional licence, university qualification, or nationally accredited qualification.

Do I need previous experience to enroll?+

No previous professional newborn-care experience is required for Newborn Care Fundamentals. Previous newborn-care experience is recommended but not mandatory for the Newborn Care Specialist Program. Previous childcare, newborn-care, maternity, nursing, midwifery, or related experience is recommended for Maternity Nurse Professional Training, although applicants without professional experience may be considered based on background and suitability.

What are the age and English requirements?+

The recommended minimum age is 18. Students should have sufficient English reading comprehension to understand course materials, safety instructions, professional terminology, and assessments. Advanced academic English is not necessarily required.

Are the programmes fully online and self-paced?+

Yes. The core programmes are designed for self-paced online learning through structured lessons, educational videos, visual materials, knowledge checks, case studies, scenario-based learning, reflection activities, and assessments. Students are not expected to perform live practical demonstrations unless a specific programme explicitly states that a supervised practical component is included.

Is a university degree or healthcare qualification required?+

No university degree or formal healthcare qualification is required for Newborn Care Fundamentals. Professional programmes may recommend previous childcare, newborn-care, maternity, nursing, midwifery, or related experience, as stated on each programme.
