Who this is for
Entry guidance
Previous newborn-care experience is recommended but not mandatory.
English reading comprehension is required to understand course materials, safety instructions, professional terminology, and assessments. The recommended minimum age is 18.

Learners will develop a comprehensive, practice-focused understanding of newborn and infant care, with the knowledge and professional skills to support feeding, sleep, development, safety, daily routines, documentation, family communication, and private-family care.

Fundamentals is recommended, but experienced caregivers may apply directly. The Academy may consider background and suitability.

The First 28 Newborn Academy Certificate of Completion recognizes successful completion of the applicable educational programme. It is not automatically a government licence, regulated professional licence, university qualification, or nationally accredited qualification. The programmes do not authorize diagnosis, prescribing, or independent management of medical conditions.
