My story

A passion for the
earliest beginning.

01

A deep passion for supporting babies and families during one of life’s most important stages.

My journey in newborn and maternity care began with a desire to support families during the earliest and most important stage of a baby’s life.

02

More than 13 years working with newborns, infants and families in private household and professional care environments.

03

Experience across different countries and family settings shaped a broad understanding of exceptional newborn care.

04

Sharing practical knowledge, professional standards and compassionate education with the next generation of caregivers.

My journey in newborn and maternity care began with a deep passion for supporting babies and families during one of the most important stages of life.

With more than 13 years of professional experience, I have worked with newborns, infants and families in private household and professional care environments.

My experience across different countries and family settings has given me a broad understanding of the responsibilities, expectations and challenges involved in providing exceptional newborn care.

Throughout my career, I have supported families with feeding, newborn routines, sleep, hygiene, developmental care and day-to-day infant needs — always with safety, compassion and professionalism at the centre of my practice.

“Excellent newborn care begins with knowledge, observation, preparation and compassion.”— Jannen Darren Lungay

  3. Observe and recognise newborn and infant cues.
  4. Reflect on real-life caregiving situations.
  5. Grow through continuous learning and professional development.
“I don’t just want to teach you what to do. I want you to understand why.”

A message from the founder

Every beginning
matters deeply.

My journey in newborn care has taught me that every baby is unique. Babies have different needs, personalities, feeding patterns, sleep patterns and ways of communicating.

Caring for a newborn is much more than completing daily tasks. It is about observing, understanding, responding and providing care with patience and compassion.

I created First 28 Newborn Academy to share the knowledge and practical experience I have gained throughout my professional journey and to help caregivers develop the confidence and skills they need to provide safe, responsible and professional newborn care.

My hope is that every learner who joins First 28 Newborn Academy leaves with more than professional knowledge — but also a deeper understanding of the responsibility that comes with caring for a newborn.

Every beginning matters — and the first 28 days matter deeply.
